Mother's Day 2012

Mother's Day 2012
Geese and Mallards

Canada Goose

Water Snake
Rose Breasted Grosbeak
I had such a wonderful day with my son and his girlfriend. We went to our local conservation area and feed the birds. It was an amazing day. There were plenty of birds and wildlife out and about on such a beautiful day. We saw geese and mallards. There were lots of water snakes along the lake as well. As we moved around the conservation area there we many birds to see. Downy Woodpeckers, Baltimore Orioles, Black Capped Chickadees, Fox Sparrows, White Breasted Nuthatch and a very beautiful Rose Breasted Grosbeak.Of course we had to try feeding the Chickadees. There are very bold and will eat right out of your hand. They attract lots of visitors who love to feed them. We only feed the birds, bird seeds, NOT bread like some folks. All in all it was a wonderful afternoon.

National Scrapbooking Day

Oh what fun we had for National Scrapbooking Day. My favourite store, Marchant's Paper Memories, had a huge celebration crop. It was so much fun. I did five complete pages. That's huge for me.With the help of a few other tutorials from my favourite bloggers I was able to show off my talent. LOL The lacing on the first page and the heart one the last page were from http://mymomentsoftranquility.blogspot.com. Just follow the tutorial links. The flowers on the last page were once again from http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com. I love to make my own flowers and embellishments. Thank you ladies for your tutorials.

Spring Card Exchange

I'm so excited about the card exchange at my favourite Scrapbooking store. It's not until April 30 but I have my 20 cards finished already. I can't wait to find out what all the others have done. It's always so much fun to be with other people who have the same interests as you.

Well I finished it. I made the flowers from a tutorial I saw on http://www.gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com/

I love her layouts. I had a great time making these flower as I find it more creative to make embellishments then to use ready made ones.

It's a cold a dreary day here in Kingston. So it's a good day to try something new. So I found a tutorial on making my own flowers. It's a water distress method. I'm having a wonderful time making these flowers for a glimmer mist page for my Mom. I have even used my Silhouette finally. I will have to get more time in with this machine, it does so much. Thank you to Gabrielle Pollacco for the tutorial... Have a great day where ever you are..

I'm on Vacation!!!!

Yeah!!!! Vacation time is so much fun... I'm just sitting back and relaxing. This will be day 4 of this wonderful time of year. My friend Angie and I have taken our vacation time together for the last two years. This year we waited until this time of year hoping that the weather would be much cooler. So far that has not been the case. Once again it's hot and humid today. I think I will have to turn the air conditioning back on. I did not sleep well. Waking up a couple of times soaked in sweat
Wonder what we will get up too today? I think it's market day downtown. Then off to check out a little shop we can across , Mug and Truffle a chocolate cafe.. I'm all for chocolate.
Trying to decide what cards to make for our annual Card Exchange at Marchant's Paper Memories. I'm hoping the stamps I want will be in on time this year. I am also going to make some cards to send to Afghanistan for our troops to send home to their families. For what they are doing for us it's the least I can do for them.

I think that's it for today. I'll see you all tomorrow... Hopefully add some pictures of my downtown expedition LOL

Random thoughts

We I'm having trouble getting into this whole blog thing. I would rather be scrapbooking or (lately) knitting. I just love to just keep my hands and mind busy. I have finished knitting a cable pillow for the couch. It's bigger then the pattern said and I used smaller needles. Oh well, I will just sew it together and use it anyway. The joys of home made things. No one said they have to be perfect, right. Back to scrapbooking tomorrow. I will just have to print some pictures for the glimmer mist pages we worked on in class last weekend. I have a plan for both pages and I will post pictures when I get them finished. Glimmer mist is good!!!! (www.tatteredangels.com)
I can hardly wait until there are classes for the Copic Markers. I think I want to learn how to do the airbrush thing with those. Sounds like it could be very fun. (www.copicmarker.com) Well that's all the trouble I'm getting into today. Probably heading out grocery shopping Yippeeeee!!!!

Newbie!!!

Well here we go. I have never written a blog before. I am going to give it a whirl. Anything to help with a little stress relief.

My biggest interest these days is scrapbooking and cardmaking. I do find them relaxing and keeps my mind busy and off the everyday stresses that life has to offer. I am currently working on a card for a springtime exchange that I will be attending at my favourite Scrapbooking Store. As soon as they are finished I will add pictures. I got the idea for these cards from cardmaker magazine. Well that's about all for now. I'm off to watch the Olympics.
